WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Freshman Bella Richards had two assists and junior Jenn Buoncore tallied a goal and an assist to lead the Hofstra University women to a 3-1 victory over William & Mary at Martin Family Stadium Sunday.

Hofstra has won five consecutive games and is unbeaten in seven straight matches (6-0-1). The Pride improved to 8-3-2 overall and 4-0-0 in Colonial Athletic Association play. William & Mary fells to 4-8-1 and 0-3-1 in the league.

The Pride got on the scoreboard first as freshman Lucy Porter found the back of the net early on off an assist from Richards in the fourth minute.

Hofstra grabbed a 2-0 lead into the break as senior Kristin Desmond scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 33rd minute.

Buoncore finished the Pride scoring in the 55th minute before William & Mary’s Sarah Segan finally got on the scoreboard in the final minutes to account for the 3-1 score.

Hofstra travels to Towson for a 3 p.m. Thursday contest.
