The Hofstra University men step out of conference play for a road matchup at Dartmouth at 7 p.m Tuesday.
The Pride (1-3-6, 0-0-4) stayed unbeaten in Colonial Athletic Association play on Saturday with a 1-1 draw at James Madison University, marking Hofstra’s fourth consecutive tie and its sixth in its past seven games. The Pride’s six ties match the program record set in 1988.
Freshman Matthew Vowinkel scored for the second straight game, tipping in shot off George O’Malley’s header on Storm Strongin’s free kick. The Hofstra defense was once again solid and has now allowed one goal or fewer in seven consecutive games for a team goals-against average of 0.97.
The Big Green (6-2, 1-0 Ivy League) has had a strong start to the season and ranks in the top 10 nationally in goals-against average at 0.60. Dartmouth earned a win in its Ivy League opener with a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Princeton on Saturday night.
Justin Donawa leads the team in points with nine while Matt Danilack boasts a team-best three goals.
The Pride and the Big Green have met just four times in program history, with Dartmouth holding a 3-1 lead in the series. Hofstra’s only win came in 1999.
The game will be available via live stats and live video, with the stream requiring a fee. Links to game coverage can be found on this page and the Hofstra Men’s Soccer schedule page.
