HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Hofstra University men will welcome non-conference opponent Columbia University to Hofstra Soccer Stadium Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Pride (1-3-3, 0-0-1) played to a 1-1 draw with Elon College in the Colonial Athletic Association opener Saturday night. The tie was Hofstra’s third in the past four games. Senior Danny Elliott gave the Pride the draw with a 33rd-minute goal after Elon had taken a 1-0 lead for his team-leading second goal of the season. Hofstra remains unbeaten in nine of its past 10 conference openers.

The Lions (3-0-2), who have yet to lose this season, are coming off a 1-0 win over Binghamton Saturday. Columbia also has wins over Fordham and Monmouth and played to draws with Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

The Lions have allowed three goals, with goalkeeper Dylan Castanheira posting a .800 save percentage and 0.55 goals-against average. Arthur Bosua leads the team with two goals and three assists while Francisco Agrest and Vana Makarian each have a goal and an assist.

Columbia leads the all-time series, 14-2-4.

The Pride returns to conference play, heading to the College of Charleston for a Saturday 1 p.m. matchup.
