HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Junior Madeline Anderson scored the lone goal as the Hofstra University women recorded a 1-0 victory over Fordham University at Hofstra Soccer Stadium Friday night.

Anderson got the Pride (3-3-1) on the board early, heading in a corner kick from senior Noriana Radwan 5:29 into the game for her first goal of the season. The Rams dropped to 2-2-2.

Senior goalkeeper Jenna Borresen made her first career start, making four saves.

Hofstra had two opportunities to double its lead in the second half, with junior Jenn Buoncore sliding freshman Sabrina Bryan’s cross just wide, and freshman Lucy Shepherd sending in a shot that had to be booted away from the open goal mouth by Fordham defender Brooklyn Gonzalez.

The Pride concludes a four-game homestand, hosting Monmouth University at 1 p.m. Sunday.
