HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – After a season-opening four-game road swing, the Hofstra University women will open their home schedule, hosting Eastern Washington at Hofstra Soccer Stadium Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Pride (1-2-1) enter the game after having gone unbeaten last weekend. Senior Kristin Desmond scored the game-tying goal in both games, helping the Pride earn a 1-1 draw with Columbia Friday night before sparking Hofstra’s comeback in a 2-1 win over Boston University Sunday.

Freshman Sabrina Bryan earned her first career points in Sunday’s win, assisting on Desmond’s goal before netting the game-winner herself. She was named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week for her efforts.

Goalkeeper Ashley Wilson was strong in net, recording 10 saves on the weekend including tying a career-high six vs. Columbia.

Thursday’s game will be the first matchup between Hofstra and Eastern Washington. The Eagles dropped both of their games in the Montana Cup last weekend, falling to San Jose State and Air Force. After winning the Big Sky Conference tournament championship and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament a season ago, Eastern Washington was tabbed the preseason favorite in the Big Sky.

The Eagles return Big Sky Offensive player of the year Charlotte Williams, who has spent time with the U.S. Under-23 Team. Williams has a goal and an assist on the season, tying Lexi Klinkenberg and sitting behind Alexis Stephenson’s two goals.

The Pride then stays at home for three more games, beginning with a 7 p.m. matchup with Yale Monday.
