ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Rhinos overcame a one-goal deficit to register a 2-1 win over 10-man Saint Louis FC in a United Soccer League match at Capelli Sport Stadium Saturday night.

Jochen Graf tallied the game-winner in the 55th minute off a cross from Christiano Francois.

Francois served in a ball from the right wing that found the streaking Graf inside the six-yard box. Graf slotted it home for his sixth goal of the season. Francois, who collected his third assist of the season, hadn’t started a match since April 29 after requiring several eye surgeries.

The Rhinos improved to 11-5-8 and 26 points, while Saint Louis FC fell to 8-12-5.

“It’s great that we got the three points today, but we made a lot of mistakes,” Rhinos head coach Bob Lilley said. “We let them hang around all match a man down and we made a lot of mistakes. The playoffs are coming up soon and we need to tighten up.”

Only three minutes into the match, the visitors struck first as Ryan Howe launched a 35-yard free kick past goalkeeper Tomas Gomez. As it turned out, it was Saint Louis’ only shot on goal.

Four minutes later, the Rhinos knotted things up on Wal Fall’s penalty kick. Seconds prior, Saint Louis’ leading goal-scorer Seth Rudolph was whistled for a handball and was awarded a red card.

Fall, who has eight goals this season, drove home his attempt for a 1-1 tie. He is 6-for-6 in converting PKs.

The Rhinos visit Toronto FC II Saturday, Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m. They will return home to face Ottawa Fury FC Saturday, Sept. 9 at 6:05 p.m.
