You don’t have to be a genius to figure out who was named the winner of the FrontRowSoccer.com player and goal of the week this week.

It has to be Sky Blue FC’s striker Sam Kerr.

The Australian international struck for a National Women’s Soccer League-record four goals to lead the New Jersey side to a 5-4 comeback home win over Seattle Reign FC Saturday.

To top off her amazing feat, the 22-year-old Kerr scored in stoppage time to climax a comeback from a 3-0 deficit. That goal was named goal of the week.

Taylor Lytle sent a corner kick in the 94th minute toward the front of the goal mouth. Kerr fought off several defenders and headed the ball past goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer.

Those four goals propelled Kerr to the league scoring lead with 15 goals. She also has three assists.

“This comeback showed huge character,” Kerr told reporters. “We can’t keep conceding lots of goals like we have been, but I know we will continue to grow. I am really proud of my teammates because we fought through and found a way to win the game.”
