DOVER, Del. – Sophomore goalkeeper Delaney Beck came forward 112 minutes into the game, converting on a direct free kick from 39 yards to lift the Wagner College women to a 2-1 extratime victory over Delaware State Sunday.

The triumph marked the first collegiate head coaching win for first-year head coach Phil Casella.

While Beck’s first attempt in the extra period sailed high, she connected on her second try. Beck, who came in for junior Katie Viscardi at halftime, was credited with two saves. Viscardi also had two saves.

The Seahawks took the lead in the 61st minute as a Kim Fetto corner was converted by freshman Taylor Wasserman from 10 yards. It was Wasserman’s first career goal, while Fetto picked up her first assist.

The visitors answered with just over 10 minutes remaining in regulation as Samantha Bahr mustered the equalizer from eight yards.

The Seahawks travel to Rider University for a 7 p.m kickoff.
