Former Long Island Lady Riders head coach Emma Hayes has been named on the shortlist of 10 finalists for FIFA women’s coach of the year.

Hayes, 40, who coaches the Chelsea Ladies in England, directed the New York club from 2001-2003. She also guided the Iona College women’s team from 2003-06 and the Chicago Red Stars from 2008-10.

Rockville Centre, N.Y.’s Crystal Dunn plays for Hayes and Chelsea.

Voting begins Monday and runs through Sept. 7.

A panel of women’s soccer experts put together the list, taking into account the period from Nov. 20, 2016 through Aug. 6, 2017.
