The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association announced that Marc DePasquale hass received a Livio D’Arpino Scholarship.

The scholarship’s namesake was an Eastern New York vice president who was seemingly involved in every level of local soccer before his passing in 2002. The award is based on academic and athletic success as well as community service.

The Huntington Station, N.Y. resident has been a goalkeeper for the Dix Hills Hurricanes in the Long Island Junior Soccer League since he was 12-years-old. Dix Hills has won the past four State Open Cup titles in its respective age divisions, including the Boys Under-16 Livio D’Arpino Cup last year. The Hurricanes also have been U.S. Youth Soccer National League champions. DePasquale also has won the Olympic Development Program national championship.

The National Honor Society member maintained a 96 percent average at Walt Whitman High School and found the time to volunteer for the Wildcats Booster Club and the Huntington Manor Firehouse.

DePasquale will attend and play soccer at SUNY New Paltz this fall.
