MetLife Stadium has hosted several international soccer matches since it opened in 2011.

MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. was included among the 49 stadiums that will be considered by the United Bid Committee for the 2026 World Cup.

Giants Stadium in East Rutherford hosted seven games, including the semifinals, at the 1994 World Cup.

Since opening in 2011, MetLife has hosted several international games, including the 2016 Copa Americana Centenario final.

It would not be surprising if MetLife hosted a semifinal, if not the final.

All cities must make their intentions known to host game by Sept. 5.
