HARRISON, N.J. – Red Bulls II head to South Carolina for a Saturday match and a season sweep against the Charleston Battery at MUSC Health Stadium Saturday at 7 p.m. ET (United Soccer League Match Center).
NYRB II (8-11-3, 27 points) enters the match riding a two-game winning streak, most recently defeating the Rochester Rhinos, 2-1, at home for their first win in regulation against the side. Stefano Bonomo and Arun Basuljevic scored in the victory.
New York sits in eighth place holding the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Charleston (10-5-7, 37) has gone winless over their past six USL matches, falling to second place in the Eastern Conference. The hosts will be helped by the return of striker Romario Williams, who is second in the league in goals scored (14).
New York has never swept the season series from Charleston.
NYRB II returns home to MSU Soccer Park to face FC Cincinnati Saturday, Aug. 19, four days after the first team squares off against the Ohio side in the Lamar Hunt/U.S. Open Cup semifinals at Nippert Stadium Tuesday.
