NEW YORK – The schedule is set for the Columbia University men’s soccer team as the Lions open up the season on the road at UMass Friday, Sept. 1.

Columbia’s home season gets under way with a Labor Day match against Fordham University at 4 p.m., with the Lions looking to bounce back from an extratime road loss last year.

After another road game at UNH Sept. 9, the Lions return to Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium to face Monmouth University, in a rematch of a come-from-behind 4-3 victory on the road last season for Columbia.

The Lions then hit the road for three consecutive games, at Binghamton Univeristy (Sept. 16), Hofstra University (Sept. 19), and Central Connecticut State University (Sept. 22), before the Ivy League opener takes place at home against Brown University at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30.

After a quick turnaround, the Lions host Pitt Tuesday, Oct. 3, before another home Ivy match against Penn Sunday, Oct. 8.

Another three-match road trip takes place Oct. 14-25, with matches at Princeton, Dartmouth, and Rutgers taking the stage. Columbia finishes the home season in a Oct. 29 showdown with Yale, before hosting Sacred Heart Nov. 1, as a match with Harvard will end the home season Nov. 5. Columbia’s regular season ends Nov. 11 at Cornell.
