New York City FC defender Shannon Gomez has joined Pittsburgh Riverhounds on loan, the Major League Soccer team announced Thursday.

The Trinidadian will spend the remainder of the United Soccer League season side after agreeing terms on a temporary switch.

Gomez joined NYCFC from W Connection in the offseason following a year-long loan in 2016 when he made his debut in the 1-0 Lamar Hunt/U.S. Open Cup to the Cosmos.

The Riverhounds are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with a 5-6-4 record through 15 games.

As part of the terms of this l deal, Gomez can be recalled by NYCFC at any time.
