ROCHESTER, N.Y. — August Finn and Ben Allan scored goals to power the Rochester Lancers to a 2-1 victory over FC Buffalo in a National Premier Soccer League match at Charles Schiano Field at Aquinas Institute Friday night.

The win lifted the Lancers (5-2-2, 17 points) into a first-place tie with the Dayton Dynamo (5-2-2, 17) in the Midwest Region Eastern Conference.

Finn lifted Rochester into a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute before Allan doubled the lead in the 74th minute.

Akean Shackleford pulled fifth-place FC Buffalo (2-4-2, 8) within one in the 79th minute.

The Lancers next play the third-place Erie Commodores (4-0-3, 15) at Gannon University Field in Erie, Pa. Sunday, July 2.
