MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. — A second-half goal handed the Rochester Lancers their second consecutive defeat in the National Premier Soccer League Wednesday night as they dropped a 1-0 decision to the Fort Pitt Regiment.
The lone goal of the match was scored in the 58th minute at Thomas J. Birko Memorial Stadium.
No other details of the match were immediately available.
The Lancers fell to 0-2-0 as they are still trying to register their first victory since making their return to outdoor soccer in a 2-1 stoppage-time loss to the Dayton Dynamos at home Sunday.
Fort Pitt is directed by former U.S. 5-a-side national coach John Kowalski, who guided that side to a third-place finish at the 1989 FIFA championships. Kowalski also coaches at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.
The Lancers are back in action at Syracuse FC Friday at 7:30 p.m.
They continue their road swing at FC Buffalo Friday at 7 p.m. before returning home for June 4 doubleheader at the Wegman’s Sports Complex at Aquinas Institute. The Lady Lancers host the Long Island Rough Riders at 1 p.m. in a United Women’s Soccer, followed by the Lancers men vs. Fort Pitt Regiment at 4 p.m.
