PISCATAWAY, N.J. – After a grueling start to the National Women’s Soccer League season that has included four road games in its first five matches, Sky Blue FC (2-2-1, 7 points) returns home to Yurcak Field on Saturday to host the Houston Dash Saturday.

Sky Blue FC (2-2-1, 7 points) try to make it two straight over the Dash (2-3-0, 6) for the NWSL on Lifetime Game of the Week at 4 p.m. The Jersey club defeated Houston at BBVA Compass Stadium last Saturday, 3-1.

“We are very excited to get back on home soil in front of our fantastic fans,” Sky Blue FC head coach Christy Holly said. “We had a very good week of preparation, and we have made a few tactical changes. Ultimately, we will be looking for a strong performance at home against a dangerous Houston team.”

Last Saturday Sky Blue FC took a 1-0 lead into halftime, as midfielder Sarah Killion tallied her fourth goal of the season in the 33rd minute. A Sam Kerr feed to Leah Galton in the 53rd minute made it 2-0, but Houston sliced the deficit to 2-1 when Poliana finished a Kealia Ohai pass in the 76th minute. Sky Blue FC put the game out of reach in the 87th minute as Kerr scored off an assist from McKenzie Meehan.

In its last eight meetings, Sky Blue FC is unbeaten against the Dash, going 5-0-3 and allowing four goals. Sky Blue FC is a point shy of second place, despite having played just one home game.
