ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Midfielders Dom Coco and Tim Crawford, who played for the Rochester Lancers’ indoor team, have signed contracts to play with the outdoor version of the club this National Premier Soccer League season.

“Dominic Coco has a family legacy in the game,” Lancers head coach Doug Miller said. “His grandfather played for the original Lancers and his uncle played for the Flash.”

Coco and Crawford also played for the Rochester River DogZ last season.

Lancers general manager Marc Mandell said that Miller played indoor soccer with Coco and Crawford. “Doug is really excited about both of these experienced players joining the new outdoor Lancers,” he said.

The Lancers also announced the signings of forwards Austin Gerber and Michael Cunningham.

Cunningham played professionally for Northcote City FC of the National Premier League in Australia in 2016.

“Throughout the country, great local players play in other cities,” Lancers owner Salvatore (Soccer Sam) Fantauzzo said. “Our goal for the Rochester Lancers is to highlight local talent and help the development of local soccer in our great city.”

The Lancers’ home opener in the National Premier Soccer League is set for Aquinas Institute Sunday, May 21 at 4 p.m.
