Graham Zusi is in and Fabian Johnson is out of U.S. men’s national team training camp for preparation for a pair of World Cup qualifiers later this month.

U.S. head coach Bruce Arena called in the Sporting Kansas City midfielder to replace Johnson, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury.

It was the second time in 24 hours that Arena was forced to replace a player on the roster as he called in San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper David Bingham for Brad Guzan, whose wife is about to give birth to a child.

Zusi will join the 24-player US MNT roster as it convenes in San Jose, Calif. ahead of USA-Honduras qualifier at Avaya Stadium at 10:30 p.m. ET March 24 (FS1, UniMas and UDN). Four days later, the U.S. will visit Panama at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City, at 10 p.m. ET (beIN Sports, Telemundo and NBC Universo).

Zusi is expected to provide savvy and energy, which were on display at the FIFA World Cup. He played in all four of the Americans’ matches, registering two assists. He made history in the USA’s last WCQ with Panama, scoring a stoppage-time goal during a 3-2 comeback win Oct. 15, 2013, to cap off the USA’s first-place finish in the CONCACAF hexagonal.
