Regardless what is transpiring on the political front between the two countries, two friendly encounters are in the offing between the United States and Russia in April.

That’s when the two women’s national team will meet in Texas.

The first one is set for Toyota Stadium in Frisco at 8:30 p.m. ET Thursday, April 6, the second one at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston at 2 p.m. ET Sunday, April 9.

These will be the final USWNT matches before the National Women’s Soccer League kicks off its fifth season.

Russia, set to compete in the UEFA Women’s Euro in the Netherlands this summer, was drawn into a tough Group B with Germany, Italy and Sweden. Russia qualified for the tournament by finishing second behind Germany in Group 5 in qualifying.

These will be the first friendly matches on U.S. soil since early November of last year and will come a month after the SheBelieves Cup, which brings Germany, France and England to the USA for three high-profile doubleheaders from March 1-7.

The USA last met Russia in two friendlies matches in February 2014, winning 7-0 at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla. and 8-0 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Prior to those two games, the teams hadn’t met since 2002 in the opening game of the Nike U.S. Women’s Cup in Uniondale, N.Y.

Tickets for the both games will go on sale on to the public Thursday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. ET through www.ussoccer.com, including group orders of 20 tickets or more.
