HARRISON, N.J. – Midfielder Vincent Bezecourt will be back with the Red Bulls in 2018.

The former St. Francis Brooklyn standout signed a new Major League Soccer contract with the side, the team announced Friday.

Bezecourt, who was promoted from Red Bulls II in August, will occupy an international player spot on the roster.

“We are happy to have reached a new agreement with Vince,” Red Bulls sporting director Denis Hamlett said in a statement. “As with the other players that have been promoted to the First Team, Vince has worked hard and earned his place. As I said when we promoted him in August, Vince impressed us with his skill and work ethic. We were pleased with how he handled himself over the second half of the year and look forward to him continuing his growth as a player.”

With the Red Bulls, the 24-year-old Bezecourt started in two of his three appearances. He made his MLS debut at the Portland Timbers, playing the entire game. He recorded his first MLS point with an assist at D.C. United Oct. 22.

“Vince finished the year so strong,” Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch said. “He has had some good years with the USL team and we know that we can count on Vince like we did by playing him in the playoffs and starting him in MLS matches a few times towards the end of the year. It will be important for him to build on that experience and take the next steps to establish himself with the team.”

A 2017 All-United Soccer League second team honoree, Bezecourt enjoyed a successful season with NYRB II. He scored six goals and accrued a team-high 11 assists, which was second in the league.

During his two NYRBII seasons, Bezecourt made 46 appearances over 3,145 minutes while registering 14 goals and 16 assists.
