Whether the Red Bulls trade Sacha Kljestan to the Los Angeles Football Club, it remains to be seen.

On Tuesday, Kristian Dyer of Metro New York reported that a deal to send the New York captain to LAFC was close for a sizable amount of allocation money.

A trade has not been consummated yet as teams in the Eastern and Western Conference have shown interest in the 32-year-old midfielder, according to sources around the league, Metro said.

Kljestan led Major League Soccer in assists the last two seasons.
