SAN JOSE, Costa Rica — Raquel Rodriguez converted a stoppage-time penalty kick to cap a dramatic comeback from a two-goal deficit as the Costa Rican women rallied for a 3-2 victory over Mexico in an international friendly Saturday.

The Sky Blue FC midfielder had an opportunity to break a 2-2 draw after Natalia Gomez fouled second-half substitute Carolina Venegas in the penalty area.

Rodriguez slotted her attempt into the lower left corner as goalkeeper Cecilia Santiago dived the opposite way.

The Central Americans spotted the Mexicans a 2-0 advantage on goals by Stephany Mayor (fifth minute) and Charlyn Corral (41st minute).

However, a goal by Priscilla Chinchilla four minutes into first-half stoppage time pulled the Ticas within one at halftime.

Melissa Herrera equalized in the 66th minute, setting up Rodriguez’s game-winner.
