NEW YORK – The Cosmos will play Miami FC in the semifinals of The Championship next Sunday.

New York, which clinched a playoff spot behind a 5-2 home win Saturday, will begin the playoffs as the fourth seed against top-seeded Miami FC at Riccardo Silva Stadium in Miami, Fla. Sunday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m.

On Sunday, North Carolina FC grinded out a 2-2 draw at Indy Eleven, clinching its place as the third seed. Had North Carolina slipped up, the Cosmos were in position to take hold of the No. 3 seed, but instead the defending champions had to settle for the No. 4 spot.

Miami FC, which added the fall season title to its impressive resume Saturday night, locked up the No. 1 seed a few weeks ago, while the San Francisco Deltas grabbed the No. 2 seed by virtue of finishing second in the combined standings.
