BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Monmouth University men suffered a 3-0 loss at Canisius in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game Wednesday.

The Golden Griffins (10-3-1, 4-1-1) scored 58 seconds into the game following a throw-in. A header found the foot of Melvin Blair, who tallied from 18 yards.

They added another tally just before halftime in the 43rd minute. A shot hit the post and Hunter Walsh gathered the rebound inside the six-yard box for the tap-in.

Canisius took the 3-0 lead after an own goal in the 86th minute against the Hawks (4-8-2, 1-4-1).

Monmouth unior goalkeeper Bobby Edwards made eight saves in the contest.

The Hawks host Saint Peter’s College at 7 p.m. Saturday.
