Bradley Wright-Phillips, who scored the insurance goal of the Red Bulls’ 3-0 playoff-clinching win over the Vancouver Whitecaps Saturday, was named the winner of the the FrontRowSoccer.com goal of the week Monday.

The English striker was honored for the week ending on Sunday, Oct. 8.

Wright-Phillips tallied in the 58th minute to give the hosts some breathing room at Red Bull Arena.

Tyler Adams began a counterattack and sent a through ball between two defenders to find a streaking Wright-Phillips. He dribbled into the box and chipped over a diving goalkeeper David Ousted to double the lead.

Wright-Phillips’ goal was his 17th of the season and ties him with Montreal’s Ignacio Piatti for fifth in the league this season. He has recorded at least 17 MLS regular-season goals in his first four full seasons as a Red Bull.

BWP also raised his career MLS regular-season goal total to 86 and across all competition to 98.

GOAL: BWP Chips It
