HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Hofstra University men earned their first Colonial Athletic Association win of the season, topping the University of Delaware, 1-0, at Hofstra Soccer Stadium Saturday night.

The Pride (2-4-6, 1-0-4) remained unbeaten in conference play after playing to draws in its first four league games. Delaware dropped to 5-4-2 and 2-2-1.

Sophomore Oscar Ramsay’s first career goal was the difference-maker. Classmate Luke Brown tried to cross in a pass that a Delaware defender deflected out to Ramsay, who buried it in the upper right corner in the 61st minute.

Delaware had a chance early in the first half, with Noa Benninga sending in a shot from midfield that dropped in behind Hofstra goalkeeper Alex Ashton, but bounced off the crossbar and stayed out.

Aston earned his fourth shutout this season.

The Pride continues CAA play at Drexel University Wednesday at 7 p.m.
