HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – After accumulating five points in two victories, Hofstra University senior forward Kristin Desmond was named Colonial Athletic Association women’s soccer player player of the week, the conference announced Monday.

Desmond contributed two goals and an assist in the 2-0 week with both of her tallies serving as the game-winners.

She scored her third penalty kick of the season to open scoring against Drexel University, before setting up Jenn Buoncore’s late insurance goal in the 2-0 victory Thursday. She also tacked on a first-half goal against William & Mary College Sunday en route to a 3-1 win to keep Hofstra unbeaten in conference play.

Desmond has nine points in her last three games and leads the team and the conference with eight goals and 17 points.

The Pride heads to Towson for a 3 p.m. Thursday matchup.
