Two New York City FC players have been called into Costa Rica for its final two World Cup qualifiers in the CONCACAF hexagonal.

They are defender Ronald Matarrita and forward Rodney Wallace.

Matarrita returned from a broken right foot in the 1-0 victory at the Montreal Impact Wednesday night.

The Ticos (4-1-3, 15 points), who are in second place in the final qualifying round, have clinched at least a fourth-place playoff against an Asian side.

They need only one point in those two encounters — at home vs. fifth-place Honduras Friday or at third-place Panama Oct. 10.
