Javi Marquez, whose 79th-minute goal sparked the Cosmos’ comeback Sunday, was named FrontRowSoccer.com player of the week Monday.
Marquez was honored for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 17.
With the Cosmos trailing 3-0, Marquez ignited the North American Soccer League team’s late rally in what turned into a 3-3 draw with Jacksonville Armada FC at MCU Park in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Marquez tallied his fourth of the year in the 79th minute following a chip from the substitute Juan Arango.
The Cosmos added goals by Eugene Starikov in the 89th minute and Juan Guerra four minutes into stoppage time.
