NEWTON, Mass. – Playing on the road for the last time before Big East action opens next week, the St. John’s University women dropped a 1-0 decision at Boston College Thursday night.

The Eagles (6-3-0) converted the game’s lone goal in the 84th minute when Lauren Berman scored her fifth goal of the season off an assist from Elysa Virella.

For the second time this season, the Red Storm (4-3-1) was forced to wait out a weather delay as the first kick between the Johnnies and Eagles was pushed back 90 minutes due to heavy rain and lightning.

The Eagles outshot St. John’s, 13-7, and sent five tries on target. Freshman goalkeeper Antonia Tammaro, who played her high school soccer only 35 miles from Boston College’s campus, made four saves in her second career start.

St. John’s will host Long Beach State in its final non-conference match of the season Sunday at noon (ESPN3).
