HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – After a season-opening four-game road swing, the Hofstra University men comes home to Hofstra Soccer Stadium to host Long Island rival Stony Brook University at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Pride (1-2-1) played St. John’s to a scoreless draw in Queens Tuesday behind a career-high eight saves from junior goalkeeper Alex Ashton.

Stony Brook (3-1) is coming off back-to-back wins, topping Seton Hall, 1-0, Friday and Central Connecticut State, 2-1, Wednesday. Vince Erdei leads the Seawolves with two goals and an assist. Keeper Tom McMahon has posted a .810 save percentage and 1.00 goals-against average.

Hofstra and Stony Brook have a long-standing history, with 26 meetings. The Pride holds a 15-7-4 advantage in the series, including taking last season’s meeting, 3-1, at Stony Brook in the season opener.

After its matchup with the Seawolves, the Pride hits the road again, heading to the University Connecticut Tuesday for a 7 p.m. matchup in Storrs.
