PANAMA CITY, Panama — Panama recorded a 3-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago to move past the United States into third place in CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 World Cup at Estadio Rommel Fernandez Tuesday night.

The victory gave Los Canaleros a 2-2-4 record and 10 points over the fourth-place Americans (2-3-3, 9). The teams will meet in Orlando, Fla. on Gameday 9 Oct. 6.

The top three teams will book automatic berths to Russia while the fourth-place side will meet Australia or Syria from Asia in a home-and-home playoff.

The last-place Soca Warriors (3) fell to 1-7-0.

Gabriel Gomez lifted the Central American side into a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute.

An own goal by Carlyle Mitchell doubled the lead in the 58th minute before Abdiel Arroyo closed out the scoring in the 85th minute.
