HARRISON, N.J. — New York City FC forward Rodney Wallace will be back at Red Bull Arena before you know it.
Wallace, who missed the latter stages of the CONCACAF Gold Cup with a leg injury, was called into the 24-player squad for a pair of World Cup qualifiers next month.
The Ticos will play the United States in a CONCACAF Hexagonal at RBA next Friday before hosting Mexico at Estadio Nacional Sept. 5.
“Well it’ll be an away for us,” Wallace said after NYCFC’s 1-1 draw with the Red Bulls Friday night. “There are a lot of Costa Ricans in the area. I don’t know how many of them are going to be at the stadium. It’s going to be an away game so we’ll be ready. There are many Costa Rican fans so that’ll be good for us.”
Wallace started before he was pulled for Tommy McNamara in the 79th minute.
