Sky Blue FC will try for its first win of the National Women’s Soccer League season when they visit the Boston Breakers for at Jordan Field for a 4 p.m. ET matchup Sunday.

“We are very excited to get up to Boston and build upon our performance from last weekend in Seattle,” Sky Blue FC head coach Christy Holly said. “Boston is a very dangerous team, and we definitely respect them. However, we know that if we play to our strengths and full potential, we will come away with the desired result.”

Sky Blue FC (0-0-1, 1 point) enters the game on the heels of a 1-1 draw at Seattle Reign FC last Saturday night. Sarah Killion traded a second-half penalty kick with Reign FC midfielder Megan Rapinoe for the lone scores of the encounter.

Three Sky Blue FC rookies started and made their professional debuts — Mandy Freeman, Kayla Mills and Kailen Sheridan. The New Jersey club out shot Seattle 17-11 and forced Seattle goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer to make eight saves. Kopmeyer was named the NWSL player of the week.

Boston opened its season on the road as well, falling to FC Kansas City, 2-0. Sydney Leroux and Amy Rodriguez tallied for KC.

Last season Sky Blue FC swept the Breakers with a 1-0 win in New Jersey followed up by a 3-1 victory in Boston. The Jersey leads the series, 6-2-3, with the record standing at 2-2-1 in Boston.
