HARRISON, N.J. — Mike Grella will miss a minimum of four to five weeks due to a knee injury.

The Red Bulls midfielder is undergoing treatment on his left knee, the Major League Soccer club announced prior to its home game against Real Salt Lake Saturday.

The Glen Cove, N.Y. native has received an injection to help in the discomfort in his knee and quad muscle after missing a specialist this week.

In a press release, he Red Bulls said Grella will be re-evaluated over the next month and is expected to resume physical activity in four to five weeks.

In his postgame press conference, Jesse Marsch downplayed it to three to four weeks.

“He’s going to have three to four weeks off because we’re going to try some treatments with it,” he said. “So, we’re trying to try some treatments there to see if we can solve some of the pain issues he’s having. And we’re hopeful that it means there will be nothing more that needs to happen, so it’s probably going to take three to four weeks.”
