New York City FC and U.S. international midfielder Mix Diskerud has joined IFK Göteborg on loan, the Major League Soccer club announced Friday.

The midfielder has agreed to join the Gothenburg-based outfit until Aug. 27.

Sweden’s Allsvenskan league commences on April 1 when Diskerud will play under head coach Jorgen Lennartsson at IFK Göteborg’s Gamla Ullevi Stadium.
