Red Bulls midfielder Derrick Etienne Jr. has been named to Haiti’s preliminary 30-man roster for the CONCACAF Gold Cup playoff against Nicaragua.
The two-legged playoff series will take place on March 24 and 28, both FIFA international playing dates.
The winner of the series will qualify for the Gold Cup and be placed in group B along with Panama, Martinique and the United States.
Etienne Jr. signed with the Red Bulls in December 2015.
He has appeared in all three competitive matches this season, entering both CONCACAF Champions League games as a substitute. He also was on the field for both of New York’s goals in Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Atlanta United in the teams’ MLS season opener.
