When New York City FC head coach Patrick Vieira selects his 18-man roster and Starting XI for Sunday’s MLS season opener at Orlando City SC, he will have virtually a full complement of players from which to choose.

Only two players can’t play for City at Orlando City Stadium — midfielder Mikey Lopez and forward Jonathan Lewis.

Lopez has been sidelined from training for 12-16 weeks due to surgery that removed loose bodies in his ankle in late January.

Lewis has been performing with the U.S. Under-20 national team at the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Costa Rica. The Americans, who qualified for the U-20 World Cup in South Korea May 20-June 11, will play Honduras in the championship game in San Jose, Costa Rica Sunday.

Cristian Higuita, Rafael Ramos and Kevin Alston won’t play for Orlando City while defender Tommy Redding is with Lewis in Costa Rica.
